Product Description
Target submerged weeds with ready-to-use granules
Aquathol Super K is built for buyers who want a practical granular herbicide for submerged aquatic weed control in ponds, lakes, reservoirs, canals, and other labeled water sites. Because it is a concentrated dipotassium endothall granule, it gives you a clean option for shoreline staging, perimeter distribution, and targeted work where liquid handling, injection equipment, or spray-mix prep are not the best operational fit.
Key Features & Benefits
| Feature | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Ready-to-use granular formulation | Lets applicators place product directly into the treatment area without building a liquid spray or injection setup. |
| Broad submerged-weed label | Supports control of many common nuisance plants, including curlyleaf pondweed, hydrilla, milfoil, coontail, naiad, and multiple pondweed species. |
| Whole-pond and spot-treatment flexibility | Gives you one product that can support proactive large-area work or tighter shoreline and boat-lane programs. |
| Clear acre-foot and square-foot conversions | Makes it easier to estimate how much product to buy before treatment day. |
| Small-lake and pond utility | Fits practical submerged-weed management programs where easy distribution and dependable contact time matter. |
Directions & Dosing Snapshot
| Use Case | Label Rate | Application Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Curlyleaf pondweed, whole pond or large area | 0.75-1.5 ppm, or 3.3-6.6 lbs per acre-foot | Strong fit for early-season curlyleaf work before canopy pressure gets heavy. |
| Pondweed spp., whole pond or large area | 0.75-3.0 ppm, or 3.3-13.2 lbs per acre-foot | Label includes multiple pondweed species, with species-specific ranges shown in the full table. |
| Coontail, horned pondweed, milfoil, parrotfeather, or water stargrass | 2.0-3.0 ppm, or 8.8-13.2 lbs per acre-foot | Use higher labeled rates in smaller areas where rapid dilution may reduce contact time. |
| Hydrilla, whole pond or large area | 1.0-4.0 ppm, or 4.4-17.6 lbs per acre-foot | Hydrilla rates vary widely by treatment style and exposure conditions, so accurate sizing matters. |
| Spot or lake-margin treatment for many listed weeds | 1.5-5.0 ppm, or 6.6-22.0 lbs per acre-foot depending on species | Intended for tighter areas such as shoreline work or boat lanes where dilution risk is higher. |
| Ponds and small lakes with little to no outflow | 1.75 ppm, or 7.5 lbs per acre-foot | Label examples show 15 lbs for 1/2 acre and 30 lbs for 1 acre at an average 4-foot depth. |
Always follow the full label for species-specific rates, potable-water planning, section-treatment guidance in dense growth, and any state-specific use directions.
Comparison Table
| Aquathol Super K | Liquid dipotassium endothall herbicide | Copper-based liquid algaecide | Biological pond-treatment program | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Primary role | Submerged aquatic weed control | Submerged aquatic weed control | Primarily algae control | Organic-load and maintenance support |
| Application style | Ready-to-use granules | Liquid placement or injection | Liquid surface application | Routine maintenance program |
| Best fit | Granular pond and lake treatments where easy placement matters | Programs that prefer liquid handling or injection methods | Algae cleanup rather than weed-focused work | Longer-term waterbody maintenance |
| Planning basis | ppm, acre-foot, and square-foot depth conversions | Varies by label | Varies by label and water chemistry | Varies by product |
| Speed cue | Generally about 3 to 4 weeks, with longer control possible depending on timing and species | Varies by label | Varies by chemistry and algae type | Gradual program effect |
| Water-use context | Minimal overall restrictions, with potable-water and New York notes on the label | Varies by label | Varies by label and water chemistry | Varies by product |
Why Choose a granular aquatic herbicide?
- Easier placement: Granules can be staged and distributed quickly in the target zone without the extra setup of liquid spray-mix handling.
- Better fit for small-water-body work: Aquathol Super K is especially practical for ponds, shorelines, coves, and other submerged-weed jobs where simple application matters.
- More precise purchase planning: Acre-foot tables and 1,000-square-foot conversions make it easier to size the order before treatment day.

I have a 1/4-acre pond that has become infested with pondweed. I've tried two other products with only modest success. Using a sprayer, I applied 1 gallon of Aquathol plus surfactant at each end of the pond and achieved about a 80% kill rate. My pond is roughly 22 feet deep in the middle, so I may have slightly underdosed it, but Aquathol still proved to be a very effective product.

Easy to mix and kills the weeds in our pond.
